Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office 3 days per week at the Jersey City, NJ Corporate Office location.

Job Summary:

As part of our Fixed Income development team at SumRidge Partners (a company of Raymond James), this Senior Developer will analyze business requirements and drive research to design technical solutions that support our SumRidge Trading System. In this role, you will be responsible to perform activities associated with all stages of SDLC and collaborate with team members and various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new routine applications to meet business requirements.

• Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.

• Partner with a cross-functional team to imagine, design, develop, and test.

• Participate in the development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and delivery of large-scale software applications, systems, and services.

• Build relationships with Development Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers across various teams.

• Stay up to date with tools, trends, technologies and frameworks and develop proof of concepts.

• Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or to reuse of existing code.

• Participates in software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.

• Reviews test results; documents test activities, and records remedial actions.

• Ensures proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/Previous Experience:

• At least to five (5) or more years of experience in Design, Development and Support of Data-Driven, all aspects of SDLC in a highly scalable multi-tier applications in distributed environments is preferred.

• Proven experience working as a Java/J2EE Developer in Financial Services is a plus.

• Fixed Income knowledge is plus.

• Solid experience in working with all stages of SDLC.

• Solid background in Java/J2EE programming.

• Strong background in Oracle PL/SQL.

• Familiar with Spring Framework and ORM framework.

• Experience in Java application containers, such as Apache Tomcat.

• Experience in JavaScript Frameworks, such as AngularJS, ExtJS, jQuery, etc.

• Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate with all stake holders of the application (Peers, IT Partners, Business Operations and Vendors).

• Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing software using programming languages.

• Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on monitoring, diagnosing and fixing technological problems.

• Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on analyzing the business requirements that IT solutions must meet.
