Lockheed Martin Quality Engineer (Level 2) in Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking to hire a Quality Engineering professional to support our Aeronautics facility in Johnstown, PA. The prospective employee will plan, organize, and report on quality related activities such as non-conforming parts and assemblies (both internal & external), raw material issues, production process issues. Ensures control of nonconforming items, conducts root cause analyses, and monitors effectiveness of corrective actions. Collaborates with both internal and external customers including engineering, production, planning, supply chain, and contracts.

The Quality Engineer works on complex technical problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious, acts independently to uncover and resolve issues, and participates in teams assembled to accomplish long-range preventive & corrective actions to meet business objectives.

• Applies the quality sciences to reduce product escapes, reduce internal nonconformances, and improve performance.

• Contributes to the development and execution of Quality Site Documents

• Determines/Conducts Operations Process Audits and Surveillances

• Support Material Review Board (MRB) data collection and implementation

• Supports DCMA and 3rd Party Audits of Operations-related scope.

• Performs data analysis to identify trends in quality performance and identifies high drivers.

The Quality Engineer collaborates with other disciplines to include manufacturing engineers, manufacturing support personnel, inspection, suppliers, and the customer on production operations and maintains up-to-date on industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college.

• Knowledge of Quality systems; demonstrated use of standard problem solving, troubleshooting tools, and root cause analysis skills.

• Well versed in reading and interpreting drawings and standards.

• Experienced in using various inspection measurement tools.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite.

Desired Skills:

• Mechanical, Aerospace, or other appropriate technical/engineering Degree

• ASQ certified quality engineer (ASQ CQE)

• Defense or military contractor experience.

• Working knowledge of SAP, solumina, JDA, QADS, ICA.

• Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEAs, and Root Cause and Corrective Action processes.

• Experience in Six-Sigma (green/black belt) techniques and statistical process control methods.

• Experience with creating/analyzing key performance indicator (KPI) data

• Experience in creating presentations for leadership/customer to effectively communicate nonconformances & RCCA

• Familiarity with working in a factory union environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
