What You Will Achieve

Provides technical expertise and operational support for Drug Product Injectable Operations, with a focus upon production processes. Partners with shop floor colleagues and supervision to ensure smooth and efficient production of a diverse mix of human injectable products. Lead standard work and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple work center areas.

This position will support continuous improvement initiatives for Injectable, Dry Product, and Liquid/Semi-Solid packaging work centers.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Identifies and lead implementation of cost savings ideas, specifically line efficiency improvements and other projects that increase equipment capacity.

  • Analyze data from throughout different stages of production to determine control over applicable variables.

  • Own/facilitate the continuous improvement process by understanding the overall needs of the area and ensuring that the right projects are being escalated at the right time.

  • Analyze the output of standard work initiatives and propose changes to standard work based on the data. Propose and facilitate continuous improvement of standard work.

  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables.

  • Investigates deviations of medium complexity, involving multiple departments that occur on the manufacturing floor. Performs root-cause analysis utilizing Six Sigma tools, and identifies appropriate, effective corrective actions. Implements corrective actions in conjunction with the appropriate enabling groups, i.e. engineering, maintenance, quality, validation, environmental health and safety.

  • Lead Operational Excellence initiatives (i.e. Kanban, M1 investigations, Green Belt certification, etc.), develop OpEx skills of colleagues, and drive a culture of continuous improvement with their team.

  • Partner with shopfloor colleagues, leadership and enablers to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are identified and completed in a timely manner.

  • Partner with PCT Leads to manage new IMEx deployment projects for targeted work centers.

  • Lead IMEx rollout for critical new processes.

  • Lead CI Loop for a large (100 or more), multi-disciplinary PCT.

  • Develops a role for the site (DOC Fulfillment, expand responsibilities to improve output).

  • Drives progress toward Business Element success (Safety, Quality, People, etc.).

  • Responsible for deriving meaningful goals to help drive CI at the T1 & T2 levels.

  • Manage and coach projects for T2.

  • Manage and run Green Belt projects.

  • Support and mentor Yellow belt projects



  • Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience OR an Associates degree with 8 years of experience OR a Bachelors with at least 5 years of experience OR Masters Degree with more than 3 years of experience, OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience.

  • Strong project management and presentation skills are required.

  • Financial skills and business acumen are required


  • Industrial Engineer experience

  • Specific knowledge of and experience with Drug Product processing and equipment is highly desirable.

  • Pharmaceutical or manufacturing experience and strong, demonstrated technical skills exhibited in a cGMP environment are preferred. Specific knowledge of and experience with Drug Product processing and equipment is highly desirable.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Job will include standing, walking, and sitting.Occasional lifting may be required.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements

Occasional travel may be required for specific projects or training. Job may also require occasional weekend/evening work supporting a 24-hour/7-day operation.
