What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.
Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.
This Apprentice, Nuclear Pharmacy will be trained as a nuclear pharmacy technician and eventually advancing to the skills and tasks of a pharmacist.
Shift/Schedule
8 - 10 hours weekly
This shift is mainly covering our weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday)
Shift is usually 5:30am - 10:00am
Holiday rotations
Flexibility to work other hours and days preferred.
Responsibilities
Under immediate direction of a qualified licensed Nuclear Staff Pharmacist, the Nuclear Pharmacy Apprentice assists with basic high-tech pharmacy services by preparing, dispensing, and distributing quality radiopharmaceuticals according to the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for:
Assisting in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and Federal regulations
Assisting in assaying medications to determine identity, purity and strength.
Entering data regarding quality control for kit preparations, and incoming inventory
Verifying physical inventory with computer records
Maintaining lab equipment by performing checks and tests on a regular basis
Performing other duties as required to insure a safe and efficient pharmacy operation.
Qualifications
Enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy preferred
Valid Missouri Pharmacy Technician or Intern License
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
2 - 4 years of work experience preferred
Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
Customer service skills
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Flexibility to work various days, schedules and hours as needed
Ability to use computers and tablets
A Covid-19 vaccination or a legitimate accommodation is required in order to be employed in this position. Covid-19 vaccination includes:

Anticipated hourly range: $21.20 per hour - $30.19 per hour
