Job Description

Leads the detailed project deliverables of a specific team of Analytical resources consisting of Senior Analysts and Analysts; serving specific business unit leaders across GWIM, Consumer, and Marketing

Executes management priorities and makes appropriate adjustments to management timing, resource requirements, etc. Directs, performs, and communicates complex analyses using a variety of tools, techniques and resources to deliver insights that drive business direction and decision making. Identifies opportunities for collaboration across the Analytics organization to effectively deliver against priorities. Partners with Business Leaders to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to a variety of business problems using data driven insights. Coaches and develops analysts in the best use of techniques, data, formats, etc. Actively involved in expending skill sets and professionalism of Junior and Senior analysts. Experience in delivering technical or complex projects and managing to an outcome (direct management). Knowledge of current data techniques, and tools. Working knowledge of tools and techniques of statistical analysis

Experience in prioritizing to meet deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels. Bachelors Degree.

LOB Specific Information

This Data Inventory Manager will be responsible for capturing, documenting, and maintaining data use inventory for the Consumer & Small Business Anti-Money Laundering organization as part of Client Protection. This includes engaging with model and strategy teams, mentoring and leading capture of data use at the data element level, and overseeing data use change governance functions and routines. This role will collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to understand and assess their data, processes, and technology to support strategic data initiatives, remediate deficiencies, and drive business requirements. This leader will:

  • Consult with data stewards, process owners, subject matter experts, technical experts, end users and other stakeholders to gather information about the current and target state business process, data attributes and data sources, control features, interfaces with other systems required

  • Document and provide definitions for processes and procedures, data models, data quality controls, data lineage, and data dictionaries using industry standard methods including business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, diagrams, flow charts, etc.

  • Analyze information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, segment high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding

  • Assess and identify deficiencies against internal policies and standards or industry best practices, providing formal recommendations and requirements to remediate

  • Collaborate and partner with technology teams, architects, and other key stakeholders to drive solutions which provide ongoing operational excellence and resiliency to metadata and control environment challenges

  • Review and provide input to technical solution designs from a business point of view and recommend alternatives

  • Communicate plans, progress and risks appropriately to the stakeholders and sponsors

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience with technology applications using relational databases and/or rule engines.

  • Understands metadata and data supply chains

  • Understands ETL processes

  • Experience with metadata and metadata applications

  • Experience with data application mapping (inflows and outflows)

  • Experience with relational databases, file systems, and reading code (e.g. SAS, SQL)

  • Documentation experience and building standardized templates, outputs

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: dataintelligence/analytics,data management, data governance, data supply chain, data quality management, and/or data architecture

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data management and data concepts

  • Client engagement & client management skills

  • Independent and proactive leader

  • Excellent communication skills and influences without authority

  • Develop and continuously improve procedure driven functions to demonstrate sustainability, repeatability and defensibility of program

  • Strong Experience in Microsoft Office applications
