Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Mid Career Systems Engineer Sr. to support the Meridian program, focusing on the design and integration of the Ground Segment for an advanced satellite communications system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Systems Engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to System Engineering activities supporting the Meridian program, including system architecture, design, integration, and testing
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of Ground Integration, ensuring seamless communication between system components
• Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definitions to translate customer needs into requirements as well as hardware and software specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and test engineers, to ensure system requirements are met
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, interface control documents, and test plans
Basic Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering practices, implementation, and tools (e.g., MagicDraw, Cameo, or similar)
• Experience with requirements documentation, validation, and verification, including requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, ReqPro)
• Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Engineering or related STEM degree (e.g., Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering)
• Active SECRET security clearance
• Strong understanding of system architecture, design principles, and engineering best practices
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills:
• 5+ years of experience performing Systems Engineering activities in the aerospace industry, with a focus on ground segments or satellite communications systems
• Experience in agile development process, roles, and rhythms (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience as part of a larger Ground Segment focused technical team, with knowledge of ground segment operations and maintenance
• Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, INCOSE Certification, or relevant Graduate Certificate
• Previous experience defining and documenting functional requirements, including experience with requirements elicitation and analysis techniques
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies, such as:
• Modeling languages (e.g., SysML, UML)
• Simulation and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink)
• Collaboration and version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN)
• Experience with test and validation methodologies, including test planning, execution, and reporting
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
