BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
The Product Support/Parts Book Specialist position is responsible for distribution and availability of all Parts and Accessory manuals, electronic reference publications, manufacturing prints, and service-related information. In doing so, the position requires interaction with suppliers, manufacturing facilities, dealer support, and other departments for distribution of accurate parts books to Compass.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and release Electronic Parts Catalogs (EPC) with supporting reference materials
Work with engineering and suppliers to break down products to service level components for inclusion in the EPC
Assess the best service level for assemblies and translate to best information to be provided to dealers for servicing boats
Read, manipulate, and create technical drawings and information for use in EPC
Assist in the placement and maintenance of dealer product support aids on SalesForce Knowledge Base, brand websites, or other reference areas for dealers and customers.
Ensure all pertinent publications are available on shared servers or websites
Answers inquiries from peers & dealers, working with suppliers, productions facilities, sales, marketing, and other engineering to provide the best answer available.
Assist in the development of Dealer Service training information
Readily available to assist with phone calls as back for other customer service team members
Receive and respond to all request for technical publication access/availability from BBG Brands and other Headquarter office employees and/or management in a timely and effective manner
Performs other requests as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Associate Degree or higher preferred
1-2 years manufacturing experience in the marine industry preferred (preferably Brunswick facilities)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints
Requires working knowledge of manufacturing and servicing of boats or other machinery (preferably Brunswick products)
Computer proficiency with standard software packages, including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Adobe, VISIO
Possess efficient and excellent verbal communication skills: ability to communicate at all levels of the organization; listens actively/ encourages open expression of ideas and opinions
Possess efficient and excellent written communication skills
Possess efficient and excellent problem instructional skills
Promotes high standards, completes task responsibilities, and pursues challenging goals
Able to work effectively in a matrix-based management system (reporting directly to an “off-site management team” while continuing to interact with other internal management)
Works well with minimal supervision in a multi-location environment
Works independently on special and unique projects with instruction
Possesses working knowledge of marine products
Creates appropriate written communications, work instructions, spreadsheets, reports, and graphs
Analyzes needs and recommends potential solutions to distribute and communicate publications
Performs regular tasks with minimal supervision; Interprets results and recommends new ideas
Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment within a matrix organization
High level of detail orientation
