The LPSD facility in Lafayette supplies high quality power systems to a wide variety of Caterpillar’s businesses, ranging from Large Mining, Oil and Gas, Electric Power, and OEMs and is one of the more profitable business units within Caterpillar. As an Information Technology Analyst for the facility, you will work with the manufacturing and supporting business partners to enable efficient manufacturing and business practices. You will be a Business IT Consultant to integrate manufacturing systems with IT services for all the business functions at the facility. You will work with the business to develop and broker IT solutions to support their business needs. You will be involved in many stages of IT solutions, including implementation, support, and retirement. You will build strong relationships with various stakeholders and clients, while enhancing your knowledge of Caterpillar's products, technologies, and processes

What You Will Do:

  • Regularly engage with staff from Factory Operational teams at the Lafayette facility to understand their business and their IT needs.

  • Coordinate the delivery of Factory IT projects by brokering the services of the Lafayette IT site applications team along with various globally located Caterpillar IT teams and external partners.

  • Support miscellaneous Factory IT Systems and resolve issues within established SLA periods. Coordinate the issue resolution process with globally located Caterpillar IT support teams and external partners.

  • Perform network management including installation of network switches, enabling/disabling of network ports, patching of ports.

  • Oversee Windows PC upgrades and installation of patches and perform troubleshooting of Windows PC issues.

  • Manage Windows Active Directory for Lafayette accounts.

  • Perform Installation and De-installation of server/storage hardware in the local data center.

  • Provide required support for Enterprise IT security initiatives.

  • Share functional knowledge of Factory IT solutions with business partners to support their operational performance.

What You Have:

  • Experience supporting IT in a production environment.

  • Computer-related or Engineering-related four-year College or University Degree (or equivalent).

  • Experience with a variety of operating systems and hardware platforms (Windows, Linux, Android, PLC, VMWare, NAS, etc.)

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering fields.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Experience managing Windows Active Directory.

  • Experience in Windows Server Administration and application support.

  • Experience supporting Windows PCs.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking and segmentation through risk domains.

  • Exceptionally good oral and written communication and people skills.

  • High customer focus.

  • Good planning & organizing skills.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills on diverse problem sets.

Additional Info:

  • The primary locations for this position: Lafayette, Indiana

  • NO RELOCATION being offered.

  • Must be willing to work 3 – 4 days in office.

  • This role may require up to 10% travel.

  • Sponsorship is not available including OPT, H4-EAD. Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder.
