This position is accountable for the development and improvement of manufacturing processes in support of the Gas/Diesel Engine product. Incumbent will promote profitable processes and implement applicable changes, providing lowest cost. Incumbent will facilitate ongoing continuous improvement initiatives for the Gas/Diesel Engine manufacturing processes.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline or relevant experience

What you will do:

  • Develop project proposals by creating cost estimates, technical specifications, identifying and qualifying suppliers, soliciting bids from qualified suppliers, performing project site audits, developing technical evaluations, and work area layouts.

  • Manage capital projects from concept to implementation for new processes, assembly, machine lines, & tooling, etc. for assigned area.

  • Provide capital forecasting correlation and reporting as it relates to NPI, capacity increases, equipment and/or systems replacement, and methods and/or process improvement.

  • Prepare feasibility studies for appropriateness and cost effectiveness and submit recommendations accordingly.

  • Perform analysis and utilize simulation technology to provide recommendations to implement cost reductions, make safety and quality improvements related to material costs, ergonomics, work area layouts, process, and method improvements.

  • Evaluate projects to define desired results and determine logical approaches. Factors evaluated will include cost, personnel, usage, equipment and systems, and space as well as any other information needed to determine requirements.

  • Contribute to effective management decisions in determining most efficient processes, methods, equipment, tools, systems, and services necessary for the most effective assembly of product.

  • Support IT system network initiatives needed to integrate computer software, production equipment, & maintain uptime & productivity.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Working knowledge of FMEA's, SPC, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Error Proofing, and Root Cause Analysis

  • Proficiency with Computer-aided design software such as Creo and AutoCad

  • Experience working in CAPP+ documentation

  • Proficiency with MS Office; MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Power Bi, Project Plan

  • Ability to design, evaluate, and modify fixtures/tooling for manufacturing

  • Can establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Progressive project and/or process improvement experience

  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and project planning skills

Manufacturing Equipment: Working Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.

Manufacturing Processes: Extensive Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

Manufacturing Safety: Extensive Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Extensive Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

Problem Management Process - MFG: Extensive Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
