Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

As the onsite Human Resources Lead, you will serve as a team leader in the implementation and delivery of key HR activities including, but not limited to, staffing, onboarding, assignment conditions administration, compensation, performance management, employee relations, training & development and offboarding plans. Your role will report to the Project Human Resources Manager and will play a key role in supporting compliance, consistency, and effectiveness of all HR activities for the project. #LI-HB1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise onsite project HR team by providing guidance on HR activities and workflow, performance management, career & skill development, and day-to-day leadership

  • Staffing support for project, including liaising with project / functional hiring managers, forecasting needs, and maintenance of Smart Staff updates as required. Additionally, role will need to attend or lead regular project staffing calls

  • Visa and immigration compliance as required for project personnel, including compliance for entry and exit, position change notifications, local processing, and other assistance

  • Development and facilitation of onboarding actions for new project assignees. This may include welcome packages, orientation, I-9 support and coordination with functional group manager

  • Provide advice and counsel to employees and managers on assignment conditions, human resources policies, procedures and processes

  • Maintain employee demobilization schedules and release dates in alignment with project staffing plans including short term assignment tracking. This includes the preparation of completion paperwork for project personnel in accordance with local legal and company requirements, as applicable.

  • Work with People Operations to coordinate and execute project learning and talent requirements. Aids project management in identifying training and development needs along with innovative approaches to attracting, developing, mentoring, and retaining project talent

  • Develop and maintain a robust employee relations and performance management program in connection with Corporate ER policies and procedures

  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and improvement recommendations, and monitors all key metrics in support of achieving established goals

  • Prepare and review budgets in relation to project objectives to ensure cost effectiveness

  • Collaborate and recommend solutions to escalated unusual, ambiguous and complex problems where guidelines are not clearly defined

  • Identifies operational opportunities for process improvement and implementation

  • Provide support for employee wellness initiatives and mental health programs

  • Other actions as directed by the Project HR Manager

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience communicating with all levels of management and employees including good listening skills.

  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Suite of products

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and records.

  • Experience providing guidance and advice to HR staff in planning and execution in such areas as policy interpretation, employee relations, training, relocations, on-boarding and off-boarding, preferably on a project site

  • Ability to function in an environment with frequent changes in priorities

  • Skill to conceptualize, and develop independently, human resources programs, policies and processes
