What You Will Achieve

You will provide support to the Scientific and Laboratory Services Lake Forest Chemical Quality (SLS-LF) lab which performs stability testing for L-Hospira products. This individual will be responsible for activities including review of analytical data (from wet chemical techniques including visual evaluation, titrations, and pH as well as instrumental techniques including HPLC, GC, AA, and UV/Vis); performing laboratory investigations; conducting laboratory daily and monthly assessments; performing sample receipt and disposals; document revisions; and other laboratory support activities as needed. You will possess the ability to use computer systems including chromatographic data acquisition software, documentation management systems, LIMS systems, and CAPA/investigation management systems. This individual must interact with laboratory analysts and laboratory management.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Be accountable for own results and tasks

  • Be Change Agile to schedule own work activities to meet business needs and assist when needed to accomplish department priorities.

  • Maintain Pfizer standards and values for quality, safety and environmental objectives as well as meeting department goals and timelines.

  • Help day to day laboratory operations by performing tasks including data review, laboratory investigations, event reports, document changes, laboratory assessments, and laboratory sample processing.

  • Learn activities and tasks associated with own role, and contribute to creative conversations {e.g., brainstorming and innovation).

  • Consistently communicates work sequence status to supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Follow procedures at all times, adopting current Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} practices.

  • Interact with leadership, laboratory analysts, other laboratory associates, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree in science discipline (preferably chemistry, biochemistry or biology).

  • 1-4 years applicable experience.

  • Functional/Technical Knowledge of the discipline

  • Effective written and oral communication

  • Computer skills, such as Microsoft Applications and experience other computerized systems

Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of LIMS, Empower and Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

This individual will be required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time as well as be able to stand and perform analytical laboratory activities. This role also requires the ability to evaluate complex analytical data for accuracy and acceptability and investigate when required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

The typical work schedule is 1st shift, Monday-Friday. Overtime should not be used unless there are business critical needs and management pre-approval is obtained.

This individual will be required to wear a lab coat, closed toe shoes, and safety glasses when entering the laboratory.
