Join the Publix Technology Settlement Team as Sr Software/Support Engineer where you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing advanced support for modern payments applications developed for the settlement and reporting for all EFT payments. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, collaborating with enterprise teams and product management to ensure seamless application performance and stability. As a key contributor, you will manage and prioritize support tickets, technology migration efforts, writing user stories and grooming product backlog items to ensure timely and effective solutions that enhance the user experience for Publix corporate associates.
The ideal candidate for this role will have strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities to effectively engage with management, peers, technology vendors, and business unit customers. We are looking for someone with proven experience in Tier 3 support and a background in leading or contributing to technology migration efforts towards modern architecture. Expertise in agile best practices, enterprise-scale reporting and logging tools, database design, and payment systems is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
Provide advanced support for modern payments applications related to settlement and reporting for EFT payments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Collaborate with enterprise teams and product management to ensure seamless application performance and stability.
Manage and prioritize support tickets.
Lead or contribute to technology migration efforts towards modern architecture.
Write user stories and groom product backlog items.
Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support of the applications we support.
Ensure timely and effective solutions that enhance the user experience for Publix corporate associates.
Engage effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business unit customers.
Utilize expertise in agile best practices.
Apply knowledge of enterprise-scale reporting and logging tools, database design, and payment systems

Potential Annual Pay with Bonus:

Year End Bonus:
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical filed or equivalent experience.
5+ years of software engineering experience.
5+ years of experience in analyzing complex business problems or processes and translating business requirements into technology solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership.
3+ years of architecture and design of solutions in an Azure environment to solve business problems.
3+ years of leading highly complex technical efforts from inception to implementation.
3+ years of experience delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed internet facing environment.
Ability to provide 24x7 support in an on-call rotation.
3+ years of experience coordinating large and critical cross platform releases with business units and technical teams.
3+ years of experience working closely with IT management on project and resource planning, including effort estimation.
Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of software engineering experience.
5+ years of experience you have in implementing enterprise applications using platform services like Azure App service, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Databricks, notification hubs, event hubs, Microservices, stream analytics, Cosmos DB, Redis Cache, OpenAPI, IoT Hub, application insights, etc.
Data store technologies such as SQL Server 2019/2022, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, and Redis Cache.
Experience with Active Directory permissions and Group Policy.
Experience working in working with payments systems.
Experience in troubleshooting complex systems and comfortable in high-pressure situations.
Experience with logging/reporting tools such as SPLUNK, Dynatrace, Idera and Service Now.
