Join the Tactical Infrastructure Engineering team as a Red Hat Linux Engineer where you will be part of a fast-paced team supporting the Platform Engineering group. You will play a key role focused on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform - maintaining and improving server resource availability and security while minimizing maintenance delays to application teams. Under general guidance, this position is responsible for developing project plans, managing projects, monitoring project performance, and helping develop implementation plans for highly complex technology solutions.
The most suitable hire for this position will be a hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux candidate with strong analytical, planning, problem solving, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, infrastructure engineers, technology vendors, and business unit customers.
Responsibilities:
Build new guest servers and hypervisor hosts with various automation tools.
Assist with hardware lifecycle efforts for aging systems and platforms.
Proactive approach to OS patching, hardware drivers, and firmware updates
Capacity and performance analytics of existing Red Hat infrastructure
Forecast and procure hardware to expand current environment.

Year End Bonus:
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience (4+ years for Senior 2 level) supporting/troubleshooting Red Hat Operating Systems
2+ years of experience (4+ years for Senior 2 level) supporting/troubleshooting Red Hat Virtualization Clusters
1+ years of experience (2+ years for Senior 2 level) with identity and access management integrating Red Hat with Microsoft Active Directory
Experience with Red Hat role-based access control
Experience troubleshooting TCP/IP networking including SSH and TLS interfaces.
Experience with BASH scripting
Must be comfortable working with command line including VIM.
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of experience supporting/troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Virtualization platform.
Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization as a hypervisor
Hands-on experience developing Ansible playbooks.
Experience working in a large corporate environment including a structured Change Management process.
Solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business, security, and compliance requirements.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
Experience working with Logical Volume Manager storage management with fiber channel-based SAN.
