Lockheed Martin F-22 LO/Structures Field Service Engineer (Level 3), Secret Clearance in Langley Air Force Base, Virginia
Description: Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment team as an F-22 Low Observable (LO)/Structures Field Service Engineer (FSE) where you will provide critical support--with primary emphasis on LO/Structures systems to sustain assigned aircraft for operational requirements. This position requires you to:
• Effectively communicate directly with F-22 maintainers, pilots, on-site LM team, and off-site engineering authorities to resolve complex issues.
• Use technical skills to assist and guide Air Force (AF) technicians and pilots to improve F-22 procedures & degraded systems.
• Use troubleshooting skills to resolve anomalies across multiple aircraft systems primarily categorized into Low-Observable, Structural, Airplane General (APG), and Avionics areas of the F-22.
• After training, be able to demonstrate proficiency through a series of oral examinations in your core technical area and other areas as categorized into Low Observable & Structural, Airplane General (APG), & Avionics systems within 1 yr after hiring.
• Demonstrate ability to grasp complex/technical details beyond core knowledge area.
• Must be world-wide deployable and willing/able to deploy with the Langley F-22 customer to any location (with minimal notice), including austere, remote locations, for extended periods of time (6 months or longer).
• Be willing/able to work any shift, any day, at any time, to include weekends and holidays, as necessary, to support customer operational objectives. This position will work rotating shifts as directed to mitigate gaps.
• Resolve issues arising from operations and/or maintenance activities for all matters involving F-22 aircraft systems/subsystems performance, with specific expertise in F-22 LO/Structures Systems.
• Accomplish in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of F-22 Weapon System difficulties experienced at the assigned/deployed location.
• Attend briefings/debriefings as required, to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues requiring company/industry partner intervention to avoid aircraft downtime.
• Fully and completely document all unusual operational/maintenance problems, even if resolved on-site, to ensure company and industry partners are apprised of emerging system degradation/failure trends.
• Initiate Action Requests (ARs) to identify unique operational/technical problems which require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve.
• Provide on-site assistance to AF personnel initiating Deficiency Reports (DRs) and/or Technical Order Deficiency Reports (TODCRs).
• Provide LO/Structures system orientation when requested to AF personnel.
• Must be able to work and interact with logistics/operational communities at all levels, as well as multiple professional engineers across the F-22 industry.
• Work closely with Langley's Signature Assessment System (SAS) Manager to support SAS Fleet Health improvement initiatives.
• Represent the contractor team at required sustainment/operations and local leadership meetings/conferences.
• Must be willing/able to: receive immunizations, meet/satisfy required medical & training readiness prerequisites for deployment as determined by DOD/USAF agencies, to include vaccinations as directed by Executive Orders and public law.
• Must be able to wear Mission-Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) chemical protection ensemble.
• Must be a US Citizen. Must possess a current Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
The following are skills a candidate must possess for consideration for this position:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in F-22 Low Observable/Structures.
• At least 4 years on 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft experience (F-22 or F-35).
• Experience with reading and interpretation of engineering drawings/schematics.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the others:
• Prior 5th Generation Field Service Engineer (FSE) experience.
• Fault Isolation and problem analysis experience at the sub-system level.
• Experience with Engineering tools to include Indoor Signature Diagnostics, RVR, & NDE.
• Knowledge of CATIA & System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE).
• Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) license.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
