What Internal Audit-IT contributes to Cardinal Health

Internal Audit - IT is responsible for conducting IT systems audits of networks, databases, systems, applications and other IT components to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and laws and address risk. Evaluates and recommends improvements to business practices, processes and control procedures. Closely aligns with Internal Audit - Finance to provide an integrated understanding of how IT risks impact financial and operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the execution of audits of IT processes and technologies

  • Evaluates information technology risks to the organization and performs tests of controls to assess the adequacy of the control environment; identifies control weaknesses and recommends improvements

  • Leverages project management skills to define audit testing plans, execute and document internal controls testing, and document testing results and related audit findings.

  • Clearly and accurately documents IT system design and architecture, IT operational processes and related audit findings.

  • Works proactively with internal customers to ensure audit recommendations are implemented timely

  • Drafts audit reports and prepares documentation to support audit activities; incorporates feedback provided by audit department management

  • Tracks project activities and provides status updates on audit initiatives

  • Collaborates effectively with internal audit team members, business and IT leaders and stakeholders, and controls and compliance teams

  • Contributes to internal audit department initiatives including management of audit technologies, methodology, data analytics, training, and continuous improvement programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field (including but not limited to audit, information technology, finance and accounting, security, data analytics/governance, or business operations) preferred

  • Demonstrates knowledge of IT systems design and architecture, process flows, process documentation and internal control identification.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to interact with others in a constructive manner that builds trust.

  • Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks

  • Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity

  • Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve

  • Applies judgment within defined parameters

  • Receives general guidance may receive more detailed instruction on new projects

  • Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy

Anticipated salary range: $67,400 - $96,400
