Description: This exciting position is with our historic Skunk Works program. Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. The ideal skunk is an agile, multifaceted teammate who loves to solve our customer's most difficult challenges. Some of our unclassified projects include the U-2, SR-71 Blackbird, F-22 Raptor, F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-35 Lightening II.

As a System Field Engineer you will provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems. Provide expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoots products and modifies them to customer requirements. Provides training to customers.

The candidate will be an integral member of a technical support team responsible for managing and troubleshooting the network components of a complex mission system during operations and will be able to confer with a broader engineering team regarding anomalies in system operation and provide root cause analysis.

Must be willing to travel periodically to remote locations, some in austere conditions.

Candidate must obtain required medical clearance for these locations.

Top Secret security clearance within the last 6 years with current SBI required.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience in the field of network computing

Technical experience and analytical skills in the field of networking and computers

Advanced knowledge in the design and deployment of functional networks (LAN, WAN, VPN)

Desired Skills:

Minimum 6 years experience in the field of network computing

Excellent technical, administrative, and communication skills

Advanced knowledge in the design and implementation of Wide Area Networks

Excellent technical, administrative, and communication skills

Use state of the art troubleshooting tools such as time-domain reflectometers and protocol analyzers

Perform infrastructure cable design for voice and data which adheres to TIA-568 standards

Ability to maintain Local Area Networks which support LINUX, UNIX, and Microsoft servers and gateways

Ability to design, troubleshoot, and maintain Virtual Networking

Experienced in troubleshooting and configuring network encryption devices

Good oral and written communication skills

Project management skills

Advanced network certification (i.e. CCNP JNCIP)
