Weyerhaeuser Maintenance Manager in Lebanon, Oregon

This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the Unit Manager and is responsible for the safe coordination and oversight of all maintenance activities at the Santiam Lumber mill. This position is a key member of the Santiam Lumber leadership team.

The successful candidate will be a safety role model with excellent team skills and a proven ability to lead and develop people in a union environment. As part of the site leadership team, you will have a critical role in driving world-class safety and operational excellence.

Key Functions:

  • Demonstrated caring leadership and high standards and expectations for safety
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and instill a continuous improvement results oriented mind-set within a team
  • Familiarity with advanced reliability concepts including predictive maintenance, work planning and scheduling, storeroom management, and resource allocation and desire to achieve world-class performance.
  • Passion for training and development of technical and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across the organization with operations and leadership to collaborate and drive continuous improvement
  • Previous experience in union environment exhibiting a proven ability to foster growth in employee relations
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a complex and fast-paced performance-based manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability in leading a team to achieve breakthrough results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge and ability in utilizing computers in a business environment
  • Working knowledge of the lumber business, financial, and labor relations concepts
  • Actively manage cost control processes to drive cost out and increase operational uptime and rate
  • Develop and utilize effective maintenance and plant metrics for driving continuous improvement
  • Effectively execute capital and major expense projects
  • Work with the management team to continuously improve/optimize mill metrics, including the full utilization of SAP, ActivPlant, Rockwell, PDM, PM, and current maintenance systems

  • Must be able to accept and respond to after-hours calls and work weekends/holidays as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred; engineering degree preferred
  • Experience managing employees
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance experience
  • Wood products manufacturing experience preferred

What We Offer...

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $106k - $160k based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 15% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full time employees
