Cargill Manufacturing Technician- Packaging, Palletizing in Lewisburg, Ohio

This Full-time position is in Lewisburg, Ohio; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 area code in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.

This role will be in a newly constructed, highly automated, medication free premix facility. Responsible for daily completion of production processes within a work area, operational department, operational support area or technical domain. Ensures areas of responsibilities meet Business/Plant standards for safety, quality, efficiency and financial performance. Primary responsibilities will include weighing of raw materials, blending and/or pelleting of materials to be packaged for distribution to customers, maintaining appropriate levels of raw material in dosing system and ensuring proper routing of materials to packaging. This position will be required to learn all roles within this scope and rotate roles on a predetermined frequency.

Shift Available: Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Principal accountabilities

  • Executes activities of day to day operations of assigned area, following policies and procedures related to personnel safety and food/feed safety.

  • Complies with corporate policies and procedures related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR).

  • Health & Safety: Enforces a culture of zero fatality, injury and illness.

  • Environmental: Understands and proactively avoid impact and potential risk to the business.

  • Food Safety: Directly monitors risks associated with products. Ensures Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) / Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements are met in all food and feed processes. Understands food safety fundamentals and completes safety inspections and housekeeping audits.

  • Reports EHS and Food Safety incidents to production supervisor.

  • Performs tasks by applying skills and knowledge of one or more products, processes, areas or machines. Has a thorough understanding of the process, work flow and works on assignments where judgment is required to resolve problems and make recommendations.

  • Performs general maintenance work to install and maintain process equipment and structures. Has knowledge and ability to grease, lube, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on process equipment and systems.

  • Operates motorized vehicles with components to move or lift products, equipment or materials within and amongst destinations (warehouses, storage areas, production areas, offices etc.)

  • May be required to teach, train or coach others on work activities, methods and procedures.

  • Assist on day to day operations for all production processes for a single department, process or shift.

  • Supports and provides input to best in class operational practices. Utilizes technical skills and experience to solve problems and recommend operating efficiencies.

  • Support common reliability processes and ensures reliability culture is foundational to operations (i.e. deploys common reliability processes and metrics; focus on eliminating root-cause of reliability problems, etc.)

  • Supports local plant Reliability and Engineering management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc.)


  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).

  • High School diploma or Equivalent.

  • Basic use of a computer and typing skills.

  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).

  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator.

  • Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment.

  • At least 1 year of experience driving a forklift.

  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.


  • Prior experience in production related work.
