Northrop Grumman Principal/Senior Principal Budget Analyst in Linthicum, Maryland
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the Material Rates and Budget organization. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Material Budget Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare annual Material Budgets (Labor and Other Indirect Cost) and assess risk and opportunities
Interface with other rates segments to understand how material budget inputs impact other areas
Analyze trends and review Actuals to Budgets monthly with budget owners; update forecast as needed
Monthly budget reporting
Prepare comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds and determine rationale for variances between costs and budget
Input budget forecast into Cognos tool
Rates are reviewed by the Sector CFO, Sector Controller, R&B Director and GSC VP
Monitor compliance of financial policies, interpret policies for non-routine activities, and recommend policy changes to address potential risk areas
Submit correction entries to Accounting as needed
Set up of IWOs and networks for projects as needed
Other duties and special projects as assigned
The position will provide financial oversight in the development and implementation of material rates and budgets and works closely with both GSC management.

This requisition may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal:
Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience or a Master's degree with 4 years of related experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal:
Bachelor's degree with 10 years of related experience or a Master's degree with 8 years of related experience.
Basic Qualifications for both levels:
Prior related experience with financial analysis and/or reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools/applications, specifically Excel
Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
Bachelor's or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Defense Industry experience
Experience preparing and presenting complex financial analysis to management.
Experience with consolidation of large data sets into easy to read charts
Experience with TM1 Cognos and SAP
Experience with budget to actual reporting and forecasting
Familiarity with FAR/DFAR
Prior rates and budgets experience
Experience working successfully in both a team setting and independently
Ability to quickly master unfamiliar information and interpret trends
