Lockheed Martin Field Engineer Sr / Lab Tech. E1693 in Liverpool, New York

Description: This position is an opportunity for a hands-on, self-motivated candidate to work supporting MK48 related programs, labs, and associated systems. The candidate will assist with enforcing the rules and procedures for the lab in order to keep the lab and program performing at the highest level. The assignment will be permanently assigned to the Syracuse location. This role will require travel to various locations to assist with trouble shooting system components, support test events, and other program related duties at other Lockheed facilities or program partners. When not on travel the candidate will be working to support the program and engineering labs back in Syracuse supporting many day-to-day activities. When on travel or working in Syracuse the candidate can expect to encounter daily activities like the following but are not limited to these:

1) Troubleshoot, repair, remove and replace defective components and parts in system associated equipment assemblies, and subassemblies.

2) Troubleshooting of electronic cabinet and server based equipment in test stations.

3) General lab technician duties like cable builds, hardware management test equipment management,

etc.

4) Test support at all different levels (i.e., CCA boards, component level troubleshooting)

5) Perform other duties as assigned by the program.

6) Organize and track lab hardware.

7) Manage calibrated equipment in the lab and send for calibration as required.

8) Domestic travel and or international travel to low, medium, and high-risk security level countries is

required.

Basic Qualifications:

1)Working knowledge of the Unix/Linux Operating System in areas of file system navigation, running

executable scripts, etc.

2)Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

3) Strong skills interpreting and following schematics.

4)Candidate must be able to demonstrate skills utilizing different pieces of test equipment. Examples like Fiber Optic Test Tools (i.e. interferometer, meters, etc.), Digital Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Signal

Generator, etc.

5) Strong skills following established test procedures.

6) Proficient using MS Office Software including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Desired Skills:

1) Experience with MK48 related sub-systems.

2) Previous field engineering/ system support experience supporting a Department of Defense program.

3) Ability to learn via on-the-job training.

4) J-standard Soldering Qualification or Circuit Card Soldering experience

5) Fiber Optics repair/cleaning/polishing/termination

6) Strong written and verbal communications skills required.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $71,000 - $136,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $81,600 - $153,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
