THE WORK

We are looking for an entry level Product Quality

Engineer on the LM Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS)

programs in Syracuse, NY. This position will be responsible for processing and coordinating Return to Vendor (RTV) material, obtaining Return Material Authorization (RMA), perform Quality reviews on outgoing shipments in the Shipping department, and process scrap.

In this important role, the Quality Engineer's

responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Applies quality principles in the areas of: design,

incoming material, production control, product

evaluation, program performance, reliability,

inventory control, and/or research and development

as they apply to product or process quality for make

and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations

including product requirements, specifications,

models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and

corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective

measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/

or are compliant with requirements. Develops

strategies and systems designed to improve internal

and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification

and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and

testing processes, mechanisms and equipment;

conducts product quality tests, performs statistical

analysis to assess products or materials that do not

meet required standards and specifications. Engages

in supplier selection process and maintain

certification programs.

• Identify root causes and associated corrective

actions, evaluate process/product performance, and

participate/interface with the engineering and

production counterparts on program activities to

assure processes and products are compliant to

contractual requirements and proactive actions taken

to prevent recurrence.

• Ability to evaluate and disposition production

nonconforming hardware and analyze defect data to

identify systemic issues and trends

• Provide inputs to the Production QPM on product

QA tasking, as required, to ensure sound labor

estimates on ECPs and on-going proposal efforts

• Ability to verify systems are 100% compliant to the

requirements and to present systems to customer

representative(s) for acceptance

• Support, participate and execute strategies related

to the roll-out of advanced manufacturing. This

includes Additive Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping,

Lean Manufacturing, etc.)

• Conduct data validation, statistical data analysis,

and presentation of Quality metrics as part of the

QMS for manufacturing

• Conduct process audits in accordance with internal

processes and AS9100 standard

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a

related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

- Attention to detail when reviewing written documentation (procedures, contracts, etc.)

- Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Basic understanding of manufacturing and

hardware engineering processes.

- Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders

including Military Customers

- Ability to obtain Secret clearance

Desired Skills:

- ISO/AS9100 knowledge

- Excellent communication skills

- Audit experience

- SAP experience

- Solumina experience

- DoD contract experience

- Lean/Six Sigma black (or green) belt

- IPC 610/620 and J-STD-001 standard certification

- Experience interfacing with Government Customer

Representatives

- Root cause analysis experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $52,800 - $101,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $60,700 - $114,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
