Job Description:

Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products (BCP) division is hiring a Marketing & Sales Retail Capability Consultant ! This position is a marketing and sales strategy role that applies process improvement methodologies to enhance our dealer’s retail presence, marketing and sales capabilities, and overall customer experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities :

  • Develop, deploy and refine a dealers’ retail strategy

  • Understand and keep current on customer/dealer market and understand how and why decisions are made within their work group and organization

  • Responsible for applying those decisions to support and develop product sales, dealer effectiveness, overall segment growth, process improvement, etc.

  • Apply knowledge of products, technology, industry, and product support, in support of Caterpillar, dealer and customer expectations and needs

  • Responsible for territory business targets: market share,participation, new customer growth, machine and attachment growth

  • Use best in class cost-to-serve methodology to help dealers reduce cost burden and profitably grow business

  • Developand support the Construction Industries (CI) Retail Growth Business Case for all Dealers in territory; ensure Dealers make progress on their retail transformation

  • Create, develop and modify future Dealer Leadership Table Business cases, support leadership table members and work to govern Dealer’s business cases

  • Identify, analyze and resolve marketing and sales tactics, distribution needs and problems in assigned discipline/territory

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive sales and marketing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Dealer, distributor or partnership development experience

  • Experience utilizing current marketing strategies for new customer growth

  • Ability to travel 50% - 75% of the time (based on primary work location)

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Strong project management experience and the ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Prior retail channel, rental or a product support experience a plus

  • Strong negotiation skills; Able to effectively influence a variety of business partners, peers and customers

  • Familiarity with Dealer marketing and sales operations

  • Demonstrated cross functional leadership; fosters a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside the company

  • Self-driven, motivated, ability to work independently

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • 6 Sigma Black Belt or PMP Certification

Territory and Location Details :

  • The preferred work location is Houston, TX, however other locations conducive to regional travel within TX, LA, AR, and TN will be considered

  • This can be a remote position;however, the selected applicant must reside within territory and commutable distance to a Caterpillar facility

  • Relocation assistanceis available

  • ISE is not available for this position
