Position Overview:

The OEM Marine Technical Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing Navico Group OEM Technical Team at boat factories and overseeing additional Technical Field Specialists. This position requires seamless coordination between the Audit Team, Product Management, Sales, and Warranty teams to ensure Navico Group products deliver exceptional quality and reliability. The manager will ensure FIL (Field Issue Log) reports are consistently updated and leveraged for continuous improvement while also focusing on maintaining strong relationships with OEM partners.

As part of the talented OEM Marine team, the OEM Marine Technical Manager plays a pivotal role in improving product reliability, ensuring seamless communication, and delivering exceptional support for Navico Group’s integrated systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Leadership & Management:

  • Directly manage Navico Group Technical Managers and Technical Field Specialists at boat factories, ensuring they are equipped to provide world-class support and audits.

  • Foster a collaborative environment between the OEM Technical Team, Product Management, Sales, and Warranty teams to achieve shared goals.

  • Field Audits:

  • Coordinate and oversee field audits at OEM facilities, ensuring Navico Group products meet quality standards.

  • Regularly update and input FIL (Field Issue Log) reports, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights for product and process improvement.

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with Navico Group Connect/Integrated systems, including:

  • Utilizing electronic test equipment.

  • Interpreting fault codes and resolving performance issues.

  • Refining processes for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.

  • Provide expert technical advice to internal teams, OEMs, manufacturers, and dealership technicians to optimize system performance.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Act as a liaison between the OEM Technical Team, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Warranty teams to address emerging product and application issues.

  • Deliver informal and formal feedback to improve product reliability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Training & Development:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for OEM service teams to enhance technical expertise in Navico Group products.

  • Support new product launches by creating and implementing “Project Brief” handoffs to service teams.

  • Support Boat Show Audits for display boats and models.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Document technical issues and solutions in the contact management system for future reference and to improve existing technical documents.

  • Identify trends and emerging issues from customer feedback and audits, relaying this information to relevant teams to drive innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of technical experience on mobile or marine equipment.

  • Proven experience with electrical or electronic systems in mobile or marine environments.

  • Strong background in customer or dealership technical support.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

  • 1-2 years of prior leadership/supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Navico Group products.

  • Certifications preferred: ABYC, RVIA Electrical, NMEA.

  • Advanced troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.

  • Experience reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and vessel specifications.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and active listening) with the ability to collaborate across teams.

  • Knowledge of marine/mobile AC and DC electrical systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Comfortable in a lab to be able to setup and test a problem the customer might be having

  • Work may be performed in marinas, boatyards, or shipyards

  • Maybe exposed to hazardous materials, such as fuel, oils, and chemicals used in boat maintenance

  • Work hours may vary, often working more than 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays during peak boating seasons

  • Normal office working conditions. Typically requires prolonged sitting with consistent computer functionality

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas for others to understand by phone, email, and/or messaging

  • Navico Group promotes a” dress for your day” dress code which may include casual, business casual or business professional attire

  • Traveling up to 35%

The anticipated pay range for this position is $82,600 - $138,200 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
