BWXT’s Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking a Process Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Interprets technical contract requirements, technical specifications, design/working drawings, and other procedures to support engineering decisions.

  • Interfaces with engineers, shop personnel, and the customer to develop engineered solutions to production component processing issues.

  • Prepares technical submittal documents for non-conforming conditions, written reports, and other technical documents.

  • Develops and revises procedures, drawings, and forms to maintain compliance with contract requirements.

  • Provides analysis and resolution of manufacturing problems.

  • Interacts with internal and external customers to promote positive working relationships and understanding of product requirements.

  • Trends and process monitors various attributes related to production processing.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics plus two (2) years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.

  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must be highly self-motivated, directed, and organized, with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities are required.

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous production and/or manufacturing process related experience is desired.
