Lockheed Martin Material Project Manager in Manassas, Virginia

Description: As a Manufacturing Project Manager (MPM), the candidate will provide day-to-day oversight of projects for Manassas Under Sea Systems (USS) Programs. The candidate will: Direct and oversee the material supply chain for USS programs; Ensure inventory and production control functions are operating at levels that meet customer needs; Develop material plans to ensure production schedules are met and that the risk of surplus inventories are mitigated; Collaborate with the Production Program Office and Engineering to ensure GFE reuse materials are identified and integrated into the production plan; Direct and monitor Operations resources to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures; Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity that reduce cost and rework; Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the USS programs in maintaining and improving its competitive position; Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed; Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply and demands for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

Ability to interface effectively with all levels. Good verbal, written communication, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to prioritize, track and expedite activities to meet critical program needs. Ability to work in a demanding product development government contracting environment with tight schedules. Manufacturing Operations, Production Planning, and/or Supply Chain Management experience. Material Requirements Planning(MRP) Systems experience. Experience in master scheduling, production planning, inventory management, shop floor control.
