Responsibilities of the role include:
Test development engineer who can design & assemble a complex multi-tool mobile test setup. Ability to assemble this test setup, disassemble setup, transport setup, and reassemble setup for remote testing. Needs to be good with hardware and interfacing laboratory equipment by remote commands
Plans, Develops and performs testing of advanced electronic devices in natural and various radiation environments. Performs professional technical assignments of an analytical, engineering design or test nature requiring full use and application of accepted principles, theories and techniques which directly affect the design, development and application of test strategies for complex components, circuits, subassemblies, and assemblies. In addition to test development projects, circuit design projects are available.
Acts as a contributing member and assumes responsibility for the performance and coordination of the activity assigned. Tasks may include analysis, defining or assessing test requirements as well as the design, development and implementation of the basic test strategy, acceptance, and performance of test methodologies.
Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Plans, schedules and arrangesown activities in accomplishing objectives. Makes independent technical decisions based on work consistent with objective. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Provides technical direction to technicians and other support personnel.
Prepares charts, diagrams, graphs and reports expressing technical accomplishments and assignment progress measured against specific plans.
*Please note, this position will require 25% travel*

Required Skills and Education
Must have experience in developing test hardware and test programs. Some tests will be performed remotely, therefore travel is required.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in Section II above.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers
Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents;
Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;
Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule.
Preferred Skills and Education
Experience in test hardware/program development that exercises complex components in radiation environments. Test hardware solutions are comprised of FGPA's, as well as NI PXIe instruments, so Labview experience is desired.
Ideally, candidate will also have experience with Radiation Effects in electronic devices, Radiation Testing, and Analysis, but not mandatory. Additional opportunities to support the VLSI chip design group require strong circuit design skills
Experience with integration of electronics test equipment, include waveform generator/analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, bit error rate test systems, function generators, and semiconductor parameter analyzers.
Experience with testing high speed macros
Experience in developing test cards, preferably with Cadence design systems
