Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer-Early Career in Manassas, Virginia

Description: Lockheed Martin Rotary Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Systems Engineer in Manassas, Virginia. In this role, you will have the responsibility to support the Synthetic Signature Generation (SSG) contract, supporting multiple trainer products. This includes the Submarine Multi-Mission Team Trainer (SMMTT) and variants, as well as the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Anti- Submarine Warfare (USW) Trainer (CIAT) trainer and variants. These high fidelity submarine and surface trainers are in constant development for new variants and updates based on the tactical systems that they support. The trainer objective is to support multiple variants of each trainer in a virtual machine environment.

The successful candidate should have one or more of the following required skills: A Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, at least 1 year of experience with RedHat Linux.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Proficient with RedHat Linux.

Desired Skills:

Experience in computer intensive systems and solving complex problems.

Experience in networking and understanding network concepts.

Experience DevSecOps in Agile environment including JIRA ticket creation, updates and closing.

Scrum master experience such as managing team backlog and holding retrospectives.

Must be able to work independently and troubleshoot issues to resolution.

Critical thinker with a continuous learning mindset.

Demonstrated past performance of solving complex problems with efficiency in mind. Ability to share vision and execute on plan with team members.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
