The Systems Engineer primary responsibility involves partnering with major segments of the organization to interpret business strategies and objectives to support implementation or integration of appropriate engineering and business systems.

Responsibilities:

  • The Systems Engineer primary responsibility is to work in partnership and collaborate with the Systems Leader in managing and supporting base business systems and applications. Support business application systems, specific expertise with electronic batch record; exception reporting, implementation, and integration with Data sweep systems.

  • Under the guidance of the Systems Leader supports by managing complex Systems projects since its creation to implementation.

  • Maintain positive business relationships with managers and staff in major segments of the organization, consistently demonstrating detailed understanding of the customer's business, their processes, and their priorities.

  • Creates and maintains critical business systems, manufacturing software applications and supports customs systems/software projects.

  • Ensures safe working conditions and practices in the Technical Operations Department.

  • Leads and supports the creation of software test plans, test scripts and carry-out tests.

  • Knowledgeable and able to access all systems data outlets that customers interface with.

  • Has the ability to understand entity relationship diagrams, as well as demonstrates client server and database fundamentals knowledge.

  • Assists in the customization, creation and maintenance of existing software applications or computers programs to meet users and operational requirements.

  • Advanced ad-hoc report writing with tools such as SQL and ODBC, directing the creation of software test plans and coordinating tests, and demonstrating advanced communication techniques in the facilitation of conflict resolution and presentation skills.

  • Leads the implementation and communication efforts of new programs/ processes/ systems, significantly influencing or leading systems design, configuration, and business processes to meet user’s needs, and presenting key findings, possible alternatives, and recommendations to next level management.

  • Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001)

Qualifications

Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Informational Systems, Computer Science, Business, Science is required.

A minimum of 4 years of related work experience will be required.

Bilingual (Spanish & English) required.

Knowledge of IT technology including relationships between different platforms including databases (SQL Oracle), infrastructure, networks, applications, and overall end to end IT processes preferred.

In depth knowledge of FDA guidelines pertaining to software validation is required.

Knowledge in 21 CFR Part 11 compliance is preferred.

Project management skills and influencing skills.

Results oriented and follow-up skills.

Communication, human relations and problems solving skills.

Prior ERP (SAP) system knowledge and Supply Chain integration experience preferred.

Knowledge in technical standards, business hardware/software/network fundamentals and query and reporting tools (SQL, TOAD, etc.) is required.

Advance digital literacy and use of software application(s). Strong computer knowledge (MS Office, MS Project Management, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.

10% Travel requirement between Ethicon Locations, Domestic and/or international travel.
