Quality Engineer

Mapleton, IL

The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States and home to the largest core making machine in the world! Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus and safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world.

With over 800 employees at the foundry, we are looking for someone who can support process development projects for the continuous improvement of the safety, quality, velocity and cost of manufacturing. This position would support the foundry manufacturing process for the melt department.

LPSD currently has an opening for a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that products being built, and processes being used adhere to all standards and requirements.

What you will do:

  • Performing quality reviews and internal audits; evaluating data and writing reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Monitoring engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices; participating in quality improvement initiatives and projects.

  • Analyzing statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.

  • Recommending modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.

Degree Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Project Management: Level Extensive Experience:

Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Level Extensive Experience:

Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
