The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an External Identity and Access Management Developer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Performs design analysis, programming, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance of programs and/or applications. Leads projects as well as initiatives to ensure improvement of infrastructure components or processes. Works under minimal supervision.
The external identity profile data services Developer will be responsible for various aspects of a global external IAM instance.
Take part in the build, deploy, and support of all processes across the identity and access and management technology suite across the 3M environment.
This position requires knowledge of the 3M platform, development processes and implementing global IT applications.
The applicant will need to collaborate with onsite and offsite teams to ensure proper delivery of solutions.
An understanding of identity processes is expected of the applicant.
The external identity developer will understand the complexity of our systems, how to integrate IAMExt into 3M systems, and help with deployment activities.
The developer will be responsible for participating in daily scrum calls, leveraging knowledge of the MS Azure AD B2C components to solve complex technical problems, develop new functionality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure fast performance of the IAMExt solution.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum two (2) years of development and/or functional experience on an external identity platform using the following concepts and tools; JavaScript, Unit testing methodology and tools (Javascript/Typescript - Jest, Java - JUnit), Node.js/Node Package Manager (NPM), Code versioning Git/GitHub, Use of Rest/HTTP APIs, container programming (AWS ECS (API), Docker (API/UI), Kubernetes, Openshift (UI)etc.), and Graph database experience in Neptune DB in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Agile Methodology - Scrum Framework (JIRA)
Web Development: REST based web-services and JSON language experience
SAILS.JS, Express or similar Express based framework
Graph database experience: Cosmos DB, Gremlin
Network protocols HTTP, LDAP, RMI, RCP, IP, TCP, Sockets
In-depth understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the 3M IAM external platform
Strong technical foundation: advanced structured programming (Java), relational database concepts and structures, structured system analysis and design methods, etc.
Understands web services and other technologies that can be used to transport data in an enterprise environment and interact with identity
Good judgment, and decision-making skills to objectively understand an issue and negotiate a resolution
Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and deliver results in a high-pressure, high-profile environment. Proven ability to identify, focus, and own, high priority tasks to manage delivery to project timelines
Willingness to travel when required

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
