Lockheed Martin Applications Engineer Stf. - Level 4 in Marietta, Georgia

Description: This position is required to execute the planning, development, and integration of advanced manufacturing technologies to resolve technical manufacturing problems as well as guide the development of the next generation of Manufacturing Systems. Candidates must be able to investigate and gather information concerning the technical capabilities of production operations equipment and stay abreast of developments in hardware and software that may be used to improve existing fabrication and assembly processes. This position will require good communication skills to be able to analyze customer problems, create new production processes within current framework, develop software and/or communicate requirements to information technology architects, and present solutions to the end-user.

Candidate will guide the successful completion of major projects and may function in a technical project management role. Must represent the Manufacturing Systems organization as a technical contact onsite in Marietta, GA. May interact with senior personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between functions and other Lockheed Martin business areas.

This position will perform project management functions (budget and schedule management, status reporting, cost benefit analysis, etc.) for both government-funded and internally-funded Manufacturing Systems projects.

This assignment area includes engineering and technical support for projects ranging from augmented reality pilots, digital networking and data transfer of capital assets, automation routine and application development, and manufacturing process development integration and support. Candidate may be required to develop innovative technical solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and creativity (outside the box thinker).

Basic Qualifications:

-Solid technical background

-Professional experience with manufacturing processes, detail part fabrication, assembly, tooling, or quality.

-Experience developing software in higher-order languages (C#, JavaScript, C, C++, Python, Java, etc.).

-Experience with CAD/CAM software.

Desired Skills:

-Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

-Experience with Dassault 3DX, Siemens Team Center, or other Product Lifecycle Management systems

-Understanding of LM Aero company policies, procedures and systems.

-Familiar with manufacturing processes; assembly, electrical components, fabrication or NC programming

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Team player with a positive attitude

-Experience with .net Windows forms

-Experience with PTC Vuforia Studio and ThingWorx

-Professional experience with Aerospace aircraft manufacturing.
