This position is for an experienced Engineering Lead within the Utility Systems team, part of Air Mobility & Maritime Missions (AMMM) Vehicle Systems.

This engineer will primarily function as the Utilities & Mechanical Systems engineering lead integrator on the C-5 aircraft platform. Job functions shall include troubleshooting and sustainment support of aircraft utility and mechanical systems, including but not limited to Flight Controls, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Landing Gear, Bleed Air, and Hydraulics. The Lead Engineer shall serve as the liaison between the Utility Systems Engineering function and C-5 Program, including Project Engineering, Program Management, and the Customer. The selected candidate will drive sustainment solutions aimed at C-5 fleet improvement which may include design improvements, drawing changes, technical publication revision, data review, drafting reports, and investigation of customer inquiries.

Other duties may also include utility and mechanical systems production and sustainment support of C-130 & P-3 platforms as well as Control Account Manager (CAM) duties for the AMMM Utilities team.

The candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with other internal organizations, program management, and the customer.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires a DoD security clearance.

Engineering Aeronautics

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education

- Experience with one or more aircraft utility and mechanical systems (Flight Controls, ECS, Landing Gear, Bleed Air, Hydraulics, etc.)

Desired Skills:

- Prior experience with C-5 platform desired (C-5M Architecture, Development & Test experience as System Cognizant engineer, preferred).

- Experience with aircraft sustainment and depot maintenance support.

- Experience providing Engineering customer interface, meeting support, technical discussions with USG System Program Office (SPO) personnel.

- Experience as an IPT-Lead or technical team lead.

- Experience with aircraft system root-cause corrective action (RCCA) activity.

- Experience with vendor management and providing technical oversight of supplier components.

- Control Account Manager (CAM)/Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
