Lockheed Martin Surplus Materials Clerk in Marietta, Georgia
Description: Receive, examine, and record termination and surplus material declarations and ensure proper disposition and accountability of such declared materials by verifying and reconciling data on substantiating documents.
WORK PERFORMED
Receive surplus material declaration forms, extend prices, sort according to contract and classification, assign material sales numbers, and type inventory schedules for submittal to the Air Force for disposition instructions. Receive surplus release authority forms for release of material declared surplus and forward to Plant Clearance Officer for approval, if applicable. Post surplus material information to inventory schedule. Prepare required paperwork to ship material in accordance with instructions received from the Air Force, and prepare material disposal authority forms.
Prepare material sales order documents for accommodation sales or scrap and surplus sales. Extend sales price on scrap sales, receive payment, and prepare receipts for material sold. Check bidder records to see if there are sufficient funds on deposit before releasing material. Secure Finance approval prior to releasing material if bidder has insufficient funds. Send revenue with receipt to cashier’s office, and obtain cashier’s receipt. Complete weight and transportation paperwork as necessary. Prepare weekly report of monies received and weekly revenue summary report of all sales.
Maintain bidder lists for scrap, salvage, and surplus material categorized by type of material, and notify appropriate organization of changes or additions to lists. Type list of bids and arrange for printing and mailing to appropriate bidders. Prior to bid opening, post bids returned to appropriate lists; prepare spread sheets for each bid; and prepare and mail award letters to successful bidders.
Perform other clerical functions as follows: receive and distribute mail, type letters, reports and other paperwork, take and transcribe dictation on bidder lists, termination and material sales transactions, etc., and maintain associated files.

Basic Qualifications:
Prior experience working with various vendors on the sales, bids, and negotiations of scrap or surplus equipment and materials
Prior experience creating and tracking vendor bid lists and purchase orders
Prior experience with the handling and disposing of hazardous materials
Experience tracking inventory, monetary collections, transaction tracking and reporting
Strong organization and clerical skills
Strong communication skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
