Description

Leveraged Analytical Sciences (LAS) at Marlborough is seeking a talented analytical chemist to provide innovative and reliable solutions to Electronics and Industrial (E&I) business challenges. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with techniques such as Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and related analytical techniques. The candidate will work as part of cross-functional teams in support of E&I R&D, Engineering Sciences, Manufacturing, and Quality. This exciting position will be responsible for developing and applying analytical techniques to solve complex problems, with a focus on providing high-quality analytical data and results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical solutions to support electronic material development

  • Working in the cleanroom environment for trace metal analysis using ICP techniques

  • Analytical method development and verification for new materials/products

  • Study advanced analytical techniques or sample preparation methods

  • Collaborate cross-functionally (R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality) on technical projects

  • Maintain high-quality documentation and prepare technical reports that explain key results

  • Incorporate and analyze analytical data from a variety of sources to creatively solve complex technical problems

  • Communicate results effectively to stakeholders and other interested parties

  • Work closely with global technical experts and leverage technical expertise/specialty

  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex analytical equipment

  • Technical project leadership including analytical methodology and method transfer to manufacturing

  • Fulfill all requirements of group, site, and company safety, ethics, and quality programs

Required Qualifications

  • MS in chemistry with +5 years industry experience or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Sciences, or related fields

  • In-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with metal analysis techniques (e.g. ICPMS, ICPOES, SP-ICPMS, Microwave Digestion, Autocalibration or Autocleaning system)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to develop scientific approaches to solve technical problems

  • Experience with ICMS, Acid/Base Titration, Spectroscopy or X-ray analysis is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to quickly and effectively build relationships with the global team

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and resource-limited environment

  • Experience with a statistical software program
