UnitedHealth Group Clinic Operations Coordinator - McAllen, TX in McAllen, Texas

Under the general guidance of the Clinic Administrator, directs, supervises and coordinates clinic staff performance, activities and functions to provide high quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible forcoordinating and overseeing the daily activities of the nursing staff in theclinic

  • Responsible andaccountable for determining the clinic staffing needs, preparing workschedules, and rearranging work schedules of the nursing staff to compensatefor work load and personnel shortages

  • Assists withpersonnel hiring, evaluating job performance, terminating, and counseling

  • Responsible forcoordinating and ensuring that the staff receives proper orientation,continuing education classes and any additional appropriate training

  • Assists Administratorin monitoring expenses and completing payroll (ADP)

  • Responsible forthe appearance of the staff and treatment areas

  • Ensures OSHA andInfection Control compliance of all personnel

  • Accountable formedical supplies including the ordering, coordination with various vendors,establishing, maintaining, and monitoring stock levels of medical supplies

  • Maintains andstrengthens the relationships with the Administrator, Supervisors, employees,Physicians, and various other WellMed departments

  • Serves as therepresentative/liaison for the clinic in the absence of the Administrator

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

RequiredQualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or related field (Fouradditional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experiencemay be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)

  • Oneyear of clinic operations or healthcare experience

  • Mustbe able to speak both English and Spanish

  • Workingknowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

  • Knowledgeof fiscal management and human resource management techniques required

  • Knowledgeof office management techniques and practices required

PreferredQualifications:

  • Currentunrestricted Texas Vocational Nurse License

  • Twoor more years of related experience in a clinic setting
