This is a Remote / Home Office Role when not on-site in Memphis, TN or traveling to Facilities

This is a regional role responsible for a portfolio of approximately 3 - 4 locations and 400 colleagues; The role will be based in our Memphis, TN facility.

Summary;

The Area Human Resources (HR) Manager will provide consultative support and partnership to the leaders and colleagues for Oilseeds sites in North America to drive critical human capital initiatives and associated business results. This role partners directly with plant managers and leadership to drive HR initiatives at the facilities they support. This role leads activities and ensures successful achievement of objectives related to colleague engagement, workforce management, performance management, talent development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, communications, and change management. The Area HR Manager impacts overall business performance and colleague engagement by providing strategic, creative, and collaborative leadership across assigned facilities and positions. Further, this role diagnoses issues and opportunities proactively and takes necessary action to bring timely resolution. To be successful, the individual in this role must influence operations leaders and build strong, cross-functional relationships. In addition, this person must have knowledge of the HR functions and associated HR policies, approaches, and environmental constraints, as well as relevant HR laws and regulations. This role is critical to ADM as it aligns HR strategy plans and helps leaders implement plans within specific sites.

What We’re Looking For;

  • Required to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the assigned facilities.

  • May be asked to work mornings, afternoons, nights, and/or weekends based on the needs of the facility.

  • Must work in a manufacturing/distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with the plant leadership teams and management teams in order to influence and provide effective HR processes, advice and support.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to ADM’s Core Values making them integral working relationships throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Provide proactive consultation and collaboration with management in areas of employee relations, training and development, and overall organizational effectiveness.

  • Actively champion and promote all safety related policies and programs to ensure that colleagues are engaged and committed to the benefits of working safe.

  • Organize and participate in selection and hiring process. Interview and screen applicants, provide behavioral interview training, recruit prospective employees, and coordinate searches. Prepare position descriptions, track employment requisitions and Affirmative Action Forms, and direct all aspects of pre-employment screening and conduct new hire orientation.

  • Initiate and cultivate a workforce planning strategy and knowledge transfer process to build current and future bench strength, supporting succession planning

  • Increase understanding and consistent application of ADM policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, one-on-one communication and policy interpretation. Observe and promote adherence to policies, regulations and Global standards. Serve as primary contact for employees and managers to answer inquiries and provide general employee information including: benefits, attendance, performance reviews/evaluations and terminations.

  • Represent ADM in the labor grievance process where applicable.

  • Coach and support the performance management, feedback and development process. Approve and process Performance Appraisals, Performance Improvement Plans and Career Development Plans. Participate in conducting training needsassessments. Provide input on priorities and overall recommendations.

  • Effectively engage all employees to maintain a productive working environment

  • Partner with management in investigating, answering and settling employee complaints of moderate complexity

Personal Characteristics and Skills;

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field)

  • AND 5 years of HR experience with increasing levels of responsibility WITH 2 years of experience -

  • HR experience across multiple disciplines (e.g., workforce planning talent acquisition, career development) while interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, programs and processes

  • In leadership capacity with or without direct report responsibility

  • In a cross-functional team environment with exempt and non-exempt staff

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience working in multiple locations with remote teams

  • 1 year in leadership capacity with or without direct report responsibility

  • 3 years’ experience managing a cross-functional team with exempt and non-exempt staff in union and non-union capacities

  • Experience developing, adapting, and/or facilitating training

  • Experience actively serving as a strategic business partner for other parts of the organization

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. Professional in Human Resources)

  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse line of business

Travel Requirements: This role requires domestic day and overnight trips 25%-50%.
