Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise. On this team, you ll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.
About the Role:
FASTLABs Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an existing team and lead the platform integration of a novel multi-function RF System. As a member of this team you will collaborate with scientists, fellow engineers and industry partners to realize innovative solutions to complex and challenging national security problems. Your focus as a member of this team includes integration, test, and debug of electronic systems employing EW/RF convergence effects.
The ideal candidate will have experience
Applying critical thinking, and analytical skills to multiple domains effectively and working across disciplines to solve problems in innovative ways
Researching, understanding, and implementing new technical solutions related to RF sensing, communications, and EW
Lead Integration and test activities inclusive of leading teams, supporting field tests, integrating hardware/software on platforms at remote sites, and manage customer interaction
Working within a multi-disciplinary teams to integrate, debug performance issues, identify and recommend solutions,
Developing test plans, and associated test infrastructure, to ensure test strategies meet customer expectations
Clearly communicate ideas, concerns and solution to the team, industry partner, customers and FASTLABS management.
Ensuring appropriate level of rigor is applied to achieve systems the meet customer needs.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related fields
8 yearsof relevant industry experience with emphasis on hardware validation and verification testing.
Demonstrate experience in RF test methods, systems, and equipment with experience in the application
Familiarity with Python and/or MATLAB for data parsing and data visualization
Ability to travel to and work at remote sites in support of test events, meetings and training activities as required
Proficient with test equipment including RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters
Strong root cause analysis skills
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
Hold an Active TS
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience operating and testing complex systems in a maritime environment
Proficiency in data analysis tools: Python, MATLAB
Experience with Linux and command line interfaces as well as software debugging
Experience managing a test and evaluation program
Obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
