Job Description

We are seeking a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to join our FAST Labs team. Our engineers create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing in a fast-paced research and development (R&D) environment.

The Role: In this role, you will have opportunities to work as an FPGA Designer on a cross functional team made up of Scientists, Systems/Software/Hardware Engineers, and Program Management under the guidance of a Chief Engineer on research programs. In this role you will:

Translate Requirements into Hardware Description Language (HDL) designs

Perform trade studies, define architecture, and provide utilization estimates

Evaluate FPGA performance using simulation tools

Resolve code synthesis issues

Create design documentation

Mentor and share your knowledge with junior FPGA engineers.

Support Systems and Software Engineers on Integration of FPGA Designs in a laboratory environment

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

6 years of FPGA Design / Development experience with Bachelor's Degree (less with advanced degree)

Expertise in VHDL (preferred) or Verilog HDL coding

Experience with FPGA design tools including such as AMD Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Questa Prime, and Siemens Questa

Current Secret Security Clearance, or eligible to obtain one

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience with ADC/DAC, JESD, PCIe, Ethernet interfaces on Xilinx FPGAs using VHDL

Experience with creating FPGA designs based on Matlab/Simulink models

Ability to use the Vitis SoC tool chain

Current Top Secret Security Clearance, or eligible to obtain one

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
