The position of Director of Facilities will be accountable for planning, organizing and distribution of work with focus on direction, follow through and inspection of the engineering and security teams assignments. This position will oversee all of the company's physical plant, including guestrooms and landscaping to ensure the guests, owners and staff expectations are achieved.

Position Responsibilities/Essential functions include:

  • Conducting walk-throughs and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of all physical structure(s) of the resort, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.

  • Ensuring completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. Ensure completion of all repairs, replacement and renovation projects of offices and employee work areas.

  • Adhering to all resort required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, appropriate outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the resort and OSHA.

  • Ensuring all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely, cost-effective basis and according to specifications. Orders necessary materials and tools for repairing equipment and keeps within budgetary guidelines.

  • Maintaining effective energy management and preventive maintenance programs and conduct special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy within the resort.

  • Preparing technical data, bidding, project work, alterations and repairs for the property.Must have basic knowledge of building codes.

  • Managing emergency programs for the operation and maintenance of all equipment and physical structures in compliance with resort standards, local, state and national codes and regulations to protect the resort assets, guests and employees.

  • Ensuring the Director of Loss Prevention/Hygiene develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards for supporting major hotel events, emergency response to threat situations or disaster incidents, and tactical support to specific incidents as needed.

  • Ensuring the Director of Loss Prevention/Hygiene implements all Global Security initiatives, the Global Travel Security Program and Local Emergency Response Training.

  • Overseeing water features/treatment programs for the resort.

  • Directly responsible for training, supervising, and coaching/counseling all department staff in engineering and security department.

  • Completing various additional tasks and assignments as needed or requested by General Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related technical school degree preferred.

  • A minimum of five (5) years in a major resort, hospital, or building

  • A minimum of years (5) in a leadership capacity.

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.

  • Must possess or have the ability and experience to acquire a first-class operating engineer’s license in boilers and air conditioning required.

  • Must be self-motivated and a problem solver.

  • Requires analyzing activities and/or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
