UPS FT HUB Supervisor in Miami, Florida
The Air Hub Supervisor coordinates Air Hub operational activities to ensure timely processing of customer packages. He/She assists with meeting financial goals through reporting and cost reviews. This position supports employee safety and regulatory compliance. He/She monitors training to ensure a knowledgeable workforce and support operational demands. This position supervises Air Hub Part-Time Supervisors.
The Air Hub Supervisor executes contingency plans to counter the variableness of the sort environment (e.g., late aircraft arrival, mechanical failures, etc.). He/She reviews daily operational reports to manage productivity and performance. This position participates in daily pre-sort meetings to discuss prior sort results and obtain current sort operational plans. The Air Hub Supervisor reviews training and work observation documentation to verify compliance with UPS and regulatory requirements. He/She participates in cost review sessions to understand cost drivers.
Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork.
Communicates with support functions throughout the day to follow volume.
Communicates with the management group and employees to balance staffing based off of volume projections.
Accesses emails to verify volume projection throughout the day from special shippers.
Air Operations Tools and Equipment Knowledge: Demonstrates a basic understanding of common tools, equipment, technology and procedures used in air operations; explains proper techniques and procedures for processing aircraft.
Detail Orientation: Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files.
Health and Safety Knowledge: Demonstrates basic knowledge of injury and crash prevention techniques; demonstrates a basic understanding of job methods; identifies root causes of injuries and auto crashes; recognizes and reports unsafe working conditions.
Hub Operations Knowledge: Demonstrates a detailed understanding of processes, procedures and methods for hub operations; demonstrates a broad knowledge of tools, equipment and technology used in hub operations; identifies root causes of recurring issues within hub operations; describes the general structure of hub operations.
Incident Investigation: Describes types of incidents; demonstrates basic knowledge of requirements for initiating an investigation of incidents; describes the procedures followed for investigating incidents.
Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Knowledge: Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functions, regulations, and procedures of compliance agencies or governing bodies; takes a leadership position in programs that reduce risk and enhance safety.

Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Preferred
