Job Description

Reporting into the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for managing the operations teams across three shifts while delivering the daily operational goals including safety, quality, customer service, cost reduction, productivity, and waste reduction. This role will provide leadership to operational front-line supervisors, specifically Band Molding, Service Bureau, Assembly, and collaborate with the leadership team to deliver business goals.

  • Ensure a healthy and safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures

  • Drive continuous improvements in quality, cost reduction and customer satisfaction through effective planning, use of technology, and coordination with other departments and business units

  • Ensure consistency in business agenda’s, performance and accountability

  • Review, analyze and improve the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity

  • Nurture a culture of engagement and employee development by planning for and providing opportunities for managers to expand business and leadership knowledge

  • Maintain a solid understanding of the department’s bench strength and its risks of loss.

  • Proactively work to retain top talent

  • Assist with annual budget preparation; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions

  • Monitor labor requirements and work closely with talent acquisition to communicate needs proactively

  • Support improved metric reporting, information flow and planning

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve proprietary tools and systems

  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including initiatives geared towards operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of proven success in an operations management role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred

  • Strong business acumen including budget development and capital investment

  • Ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service

  • Understanding of safety, quality, GMP and housekeeping requirements

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflict

  • Fluent in ERP and an aptitude for learning new applications

  • Analytical approach to problem solving

  • Ability to manage through change and rapid growth

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
