UnitedHealth Group Financial Consultant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Reporting to and partnering with the E&I Planning and Analysis Director, the E&I Financial Consultant will play a critical role in planning and reporting E&I and Revenues. As a member of the finance team, the position will manage key financial deliverables related to business planning and budgeting of Revenues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on financials, and partner with senior leaders to explain results

  • Develop or improve upon existing financial forecasting and reporting tools

  • Understand the UnitedHealth Group financial process and become an active participant in the management of its financials

  • Process Owner for multiple Revenue Models

  • Assist with research and analysis of Revenue variances

  • Various ad-hoc analyses and reports as necessary

This role is an in-office position, but allows for some flexibility to telecommute during this time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field

  • 3 years of progressive financial experience

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access and MS Office product suite

  • Prior work experience anticipating issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan

  • Ability to work collaboratively across a matrix environment to positively influence business partners

  • Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen

  • Strong executive presence, communication, and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management or process improvement experience

  • Understanding of Coding/Macros

  • Prior healthcare experience

  • SmartView and/or PeopleSoft experience

  • Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen

  • Ability to generate innovative approaches and solutions to business opportunities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially with senior leaders

  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others
