Data Engineer
We are looking for a Data Engineer to help us develop data products that help the P&G Target US customer sales team deliver and activate real-time insights that drive profitable category growth with the Target retailer. You’ll work within the Target customer sales team in the North America Market Operations organization, reporting to our Director of Data and Analytics. Please note this role is based in Minneapolis.
The Data Engineer role at P&G is responsible for building systems and solutions leveraging various approved cloud platform components and tools such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services . You will lead the design and implementation, while actively coding, and adapt it to ensure it functions well.
Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support data pipelines, warehouses, data models, and reporting systems to tackle business process, user, and product opportunities
Partner with business stakeholders, upstream infrastructure platform teams, and downstream data consumers to understand data and translate business requirements into technical design of building and leveraging data pipelines
Developing and supporting solutions in the Azure Stack including computing services and data warehouses (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks)
Assemble large, complex data sets which meets functional and non-functional business requirements
Use your expertise in data engineering best practices to guide stakeholders to do the same through building proofs of concept and prototypes
Partner with data asset managers, architects, and development leads to ensure technical solution provides data which is fit for use and in line with architecture blueprints
Contribute to and leverage coding standards and best practices to ensure efficient and re-usable services and components.
Identify, design and implement internal process improvements.
Build efficient solutions on top of the Azure Stack
Job Qualifications
Expected
Bachelor's Degree in related field
2+ years experience with ETL in SQL and NoSQL data stores
2+ years experience in SQL and Python coding languages
Experience with a range of data engineering approaches, covering theoretical standard methodologies and the technical applications of these methods
Experience using automation best practices for CI/CD
Excellent communication skills with strong business intuition and ability to understand complex business systems, versatility and willingness to learn new technologies on the job
Preferred
1+ years experience with the Azure Stack, including computing services, data warehouses, and data factory
Experience with standard methodologies for development including query optimization, version control, code reviews, and documentation
Experience with Data Management (e.g., highly restricted data, consumer data) standard methodologies
Familiarity with end-user visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau

Pay Range: $146k-$172k
Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
