United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Excellence Coordinator (Minntac/Keetac Mine) for our Minnesota Ore Operations organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will be responsible for supporting the projects and efforts to help U. S. Steel achieve it’s Mission 100 objectives as Minnesota Ore Operations pivots to Best Operations within the Best For All Strategy.

  • Lead the design of the program timeline, plan, metrics structures, and dashboards for the organization’s transformation program in keeping with the governance structure established, which is specific to people, process and change management that supports The Carnegie Way transformation.

  • Develop project plans for each program team specific to people, process and change management initiatives and identify critical stage gates within each project plan that establish entrance and exit criteria for each phase.

  • Develop process(es) to capture new project metrics and cost savings associated with the organization transformation program.

  • Ensure integration between all program project plans and with key retained organization plan milestones (non-transformation efforts, day-to-day operations activities, etc.)

  • Organize the filing system for all program input and management documents.

  • Coordinate the status meetings for organization by drafting agenda, collecting weekly/bi-weekly metrics and status reports.

  • Chair a regular program review board meeting for Executive or Plant Management and facilitate regular cross-solution team integration meetings

  • Drive and support the RCM program and development across MOO.

  • Develop Organizational Change Integration & Management Efforts including:

  • Contribute to the construction of U. S. Steel’s Change Management strategy in support of the transformation program (corporate wide)

  • Ensure that the program teams have a consistent approach for planning for the organization change impacted by their functional area

  • Ensure Program Teams have a consistent method for deploying Organization Changes, Communications, and End User Education to all stakeholders

  • Provide regular updates, including risks and suggested mitigation to Program Leadership Team regarding organizational change and communication efforts

  • Guide the development efforts for all change, training, and communication related activities

  • Develop project team capability and knowledge transfer approaches for the core and extended program teams

  • Plan, design, and execute the stakeholder analysis

  • Develop end user communication/training strategies including overseeing development of course materials/monitoring adherence to documentation design

  • Contribute to U. S. Steel’s Change Management toolkit – templates, tools, points of view, etc

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the project. The ideal candidate should have at least five (5) years of professional experience in the project area and be knowledgeable of U. S. Steel’s culture, values, current and past business challenges, and organizational structure.

  • In addition, the successful candidate must have project management and execution skills with the capability to drive activities to completion, mitigate risks, and help resolve issues/obstacles preventing progress, which requires strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with remote clients and ability to identify and prioritize program issues and risks that may need immediate attention are a must.

  • Demonstrate previous experience managing issues/risks so they are resolved/mitigated by appropriate stakeholders is necessary.

  • Keep leadership appraised of status, issues, and risks (verbally and written) and must be able to work well in a team environment where s/he may not have direct oversight and possess the ability to effectively influence key stakeholders at all levels.

  • Reinforce a culture with a high degree of emphasis on safety, ethics, and respect, by consistently modeling high standards of performance.

  • Have a high level understanding of Maintenance and the RCM program.

  • This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing
