UnitedHealth Group Associate Director, Sourcing and Procurement (IT Category) - Minnetonka, MN in Minnetonka, Minnesota
The Sourcing & Procurement Associate Director (IT) will develop and execute Category Management, provide Supplier Performance Management program management, and streamline the handling of IT Software across UnitedHealth Group entities. In addition, the Sourcing & Procurement Associate Director (IT) will deliver value to customers, communicate effectively, lead change and innovation, drive sound and disciplined decisions, and inspire high-quality execution. We are looking for a proven professional who is a self-starter who can solve complex problems and successfully deliver on initiatives that will often have broad and meaningful impact on the business.
The Sourcing & Procurement Associate Director (IT) will be expected to:
Develop, execute, and manage technology procurement category management strategies for IT Software while understanding the impact on software licensing. Implement strategic category plans with a focus on proactive collaboration with stakeholders to continuously improve the category strategy. Support the commodity team with execution of supplier performance management, supplier rationalization, and sourcing processes.
Specifically, this individual will be expected to:
Draft categoryplans and develop strategies taking into consideration the rapidly changingIT Software space.
Communicate categoryrequirements to stakeholders and facilitate feedback for strategiccategory management adoption.
Ensure appropriatesupplier performance management in alignment with business strategy.
Identify, recommend, and executestrategic supplier rationalization initiatives across one or more businesssegments, including, but not limited to: developing and implementing changemanagement strategies to support current supply chain; overall IT Softwaresupplier rationalization based on business strategy; and drive implementationof strategic category management best practices.
Understand and analyzeIT Software commodities and drive alignment of enterprise supply chainstrategies with targeted technology vendors and applicable stakeholders inaccordance with overall business and financial goals.
Define andinfluence relationships with applicable stakeholders, including executivelevel individuals, across the enterprise to drive support of the sourcingand procurement value proposition.
Identify, define,and implement supplier consolidation strategies, opportunities to leveragesupplier spend, and cost savings opportunities.
Support enterprisesourcing and procurement supplier selection and competitive biddingstrategy.

Bachelor's Degree in a related field
7+ years of progressive experience in developingmarket-leading category management and sourcing strategies and leading complexstrategic sourcing projects in cross-functional team environment, with 5 ormore of those years involving IT Hardware and Software categories.
5+ years of experience benchmarking, constructing,and negotiating complex master agreements and statements of work.
High energy/impactindividual with demonstrated ability to succeed in a high demand multi-taskingenvironment.
Demonstrated ability tosuccessfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles using facts,alternatives identification, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, andsuperior leadership.
5+ years of experience developing andleading RFx projects, including use of eRFx tools.
Superior organizational, projectmanagement and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Strong understanding of IT Software required
Knowledge of the Ariba e-Procurementtool; previous experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules (orsimilar procurement systems) is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to thinkstrategically but execute plans when directed.
Ability to concisely articulate positionsand garner support quickly from various levels of business and procurementleadership.
Strong analytical skills (effectivelysupports decisions on factual data and analysis) and problem solving skills.
Advanced skill level in MS Excel, Word,Outlook, and Power Point.
CPSM, CPM or equivalent certificationdesirable
