The Senior Manager, Threat Management, is a member of UnitedHealth Group's (UHG) Corporate Security team. The Corporate Security group is responsible for the Enterprise Workplace Security Program that ensures the protection of the company’s global workforce and physical assets through security risk management platforms. The Senior Manager will provide violence risk assessments of UHG employees, customers and individuals associated with UHG. The Senior Manager will also assist the UHG multi-disciplinary Threat Assessment Team (TAT)’s efforts in assessing and responding to incidents related to potential threats of violence in the workplace. The Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the strategy for the Threat Management program globally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Director, Threat and Security Crisis Management

  • Experience managing response to high risk threat cases and crisis situations

  • have experience participating and supporting cross-functional threat management teams and experience in producing and delivering workplace security training

  • assist in the investigation of reports of workplace security threats to UHG employees and physical locations, e

  • Experience conducting investigations from end to end and writing summary reports

  • need to build and maintain strong internal partnerships with associates from Communications, Enterprise Health & Safety, Human Capital/Employee Relations, LCRA (Compliance, Employment Law, and Litigation), Real Estate Services, and business segment leadership

  • engagement with relevant external partners as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the private and/or public sector to include security risk management, intelligence, law enforcement and/or military

  • Experience directly managing teams

  • Experience working on complex investigations with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams

  • Experience in a corporate environment assessing and mitigating threats, and incidents of workplace violence

  • Demonstrated skills to manage threats of violence or other crisis situations, and solid working knowledge of security best practices for managing threats of violence within a corporate environment

  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills to conduct investigations, lead meetings, and provide training to internal employees and leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of violence risk factors and behaviors associated with targeted violence

  • Koowledge of best practices in workplace security training

  • Competency in Microsoft Office and investigative case management tools

  • Sound analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Sound attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse identities, cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives

  • Ability to work independently to accomplish time-sensitive objectives and tasks

  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a team environment

  • Ability to interact with others in urgent and stressful situations

  • Excellent communicator, including strong interpersonal, written, oral, and public speaking skills

  • Effective use of diplomacy

  • This role requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to interact with a wide range of constituencies across UHG

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
