Cardinal Health Pharmacy Intern in Monterey Park, California

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Monterey Park Hospital, and we are currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Intern to work as needed covering vacation/PTO. Hours of the facility are Monday-Friday 7AM-9PM and Saturday & Sunday 7AM-6PM.

Pharmacy interns must act in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the facility. Supportive personnel work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a licensed pharmacist. Intern will assist the pharmacist in providing quality pharmaceutical care to all patients by performing certain technical duties in the pharmacy department.

Responsiblities

  • Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasks

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility

  • maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications

  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues

  • May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments

  • Adheres to all quality guidelines

  • Works with limited supervision. Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor

  • May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy and/or have a Student License as provided by the State.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts

  • Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor

Anticipated hourly range: $19.10 per hour - $27.30 per hour
