Cardinal Health Region Vice President Sales, Specialty & OR Products (Medical) in Montgomery, Alabama

Our Medical Products business is currently looking for a Vice President of sales to direct the South regional sales team for Specialty and Operating Room (OR) products. The VP is responsible for driving sales to new and/or existing customers, increase Cardinal Health brand sales, drive more profitable mix of products, and increase customer loyalty. The VP maintains strong relationships with key customers, performs against revenue and gross profit goals, and drives operational efficiency by driving commercial excellence. Reports directly to the SVP of Specialty Products, Extended Care, and Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

South Region = Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas (the candidate needs to be located within the region).

The Regional Vice President of Sales will lead a team of 30-50 direct and indirect employees, including directors, and Territory Sales Consultants.

  • Responsible for driving new sales of medical specialty & operating room products to the Acute Care marketplace in the assigned region, as well as increasing business within existing accounts. Works collaboratively with marketing and enterprise contracting on regional account opportunities.

  • Creates a high-performance culture though robust performance management and talent development. Fosters and supports a culture of effective teamwork, accountability and development.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Cardinal Health and customer industry, including: key competitors, terminology, technology, trends, challenges, reimbursement and government regulation; demonstrates advanced knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings impact customers

  • Work directly with Region Directors that are responsible for selling teams to implement priorities, programs and focus areas to grow sales.

  • Strong focus on sales discipline and process, continuous improvement and strategic development of business model.

  • Fosters and supports a culture of effective teamwork, accountability and development.

  • Builds and expands profitable business partnerships with C Suite relationships (CEO, CFO) by actively participating in executive industry groups and remaining abreast of industry trends

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of customer's successes, challenges, and strategic objectives; draws from experience and significant financial acumen to recognize and provide advice regarding potential opportunities and risks

  • Proactively seeks out and fosters strategic partnerships with key influencers at multiple levels in the client organization and within Cardinal Health; takes swift and decisive action to address any concerns or obstacles

  • Works collaboratively to leverage capabilities of cross functional business partners including marketing, manufacturing, compliance, quality, and legal

  • Leverages expertise and broad knowledge of multiple business units/partners to execute the Solutions Sales Process; guides efforts and coordinates Cardinal Health resources to creatively integrate and position collaborative solutions cross-system and cross-functionally to provide maximum value to customers and Cardinal Health; shares value message with executive sponsor(s) to attain agreement

  • Draws on knowledge of executive sponsors' strategic business priorities to communicate a broad vision for partnering with Cardinal Health; obtains support and executes on solutions by leveraging direct and indirect relationships and demonstrating the value of integrated, multi-faceted solutions; influences executive sponsors around the staging of solutions and costs of delay

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience; medical device preferred. Expertise in Medical Device, Medical Product, or Medical Technology industry.

  • Proven leadership capabilities, including ability to manage diverse personalities/skill sets in a changing environment. Ability to attract, develop, and retain outstanding diverse talent.

  • Self-starter: able to determine, independently, solutions that ensure business objectives are achieved within acceptable tolerances

  • Strong sales execution mindset and ability to assemble and manage large customer deals.

  • Track record of achieving results and effectively managing through ambiguity and uncertainty.

  • Excellent planning, forecasting, financial and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated matrix management skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Executive presence and solid presentation and communication capabilities

  • Ability to travel 50% of time

Anticipated base salary range: $163,000 - $263,000

  • The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
