The Work

Engineering Project Manager (EPM) for the Aegis Guam System (AGS) within the Emerging Platforms sub market segment.

•Accountable for engineering technical, cost and schedule performance for AGS development as part of the overall Guam Defense System program.

•Working with the Technical Director to interface with Program Management (PM) office and Customer for all programmatic items.

•Tracks Estimated Time to Complete/Earned Value Management (ETC/EVM) Metrics to monitor program performance and identify technical or Tech Ops staffing risks, while managing cost/schedule.

• Ensures requirements baseline in documents, tracked, maintained, and verified.

•Ensures establishment and tracking of key Technical Performance Measures (TPM).

•Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements.

•Work with PM to ensure manpower planning is up to date.

•Works closely with first- and second-line functional leaders to identify and secure appropriate staffing, coordinates with the PM office and first line managers on proposed engineering staffing changes prior to changes.

•Works with PM to ensure organizational standard processes are adapted, approved and followed.

•Leverages proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of engineering and project management experience

- Experience managing cost and schedule and manpower planning for a complex project

- Proposal experience, including RFI responses, proposal development, and associated customer meetings

- Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance

Desired Skills:

- Experience in Weapon System concept development, Weapon and Combat Systems, System of System design, performance requirements definition, and integration of large real-time platform systems.

- Past history leading teams of greater than 50 engineers with experience in working in a matrix IPT organization to accomplish tasks.

- Communication skills and ability to motivate and influence individuals outside their organizational boundaries to accomplish wider organizational goals.

- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and comfortable with presenting to the customer and all levels of internal and external higher management.

- Knowledge of all related waterfall and agile standards that govern software development and integration processes is desired.

- Experience responding to RFIs, cost estimation, and/or performing as E&T cost estimate lead.

- Experience with Digital Transformation

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
