The Opportunity

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Manager to join the Hyatt Regency Morristown Team where you’ll join a team of who love what they do. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the local Morristown/NJ Market where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make the Hotel achieve their revenue goals. The Role

Business Development and Travel Manager –will be responsible for the business travel market as well as overall new business development which will include:

· A sales person who has demonstrated through performance a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel/business travel industry. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel and wholesale groups. Duties include managing current accounts, ensure proper solicitation of all transient markets, and may include travel to major cities within market.

· Business development,should include (but not limited to) telephone prospecting, reviewing lost business opportunities from hotels and utilizing market analytic tools to identify group business and qualify target accounts

· Generating business for all the hotel by conducting direct sales efforts, follow-up and proper sales administration with a heavy emphasis on customer relationships and problem solving

· Entertain clients on property, include managing monthly happy hours, customer activations and sales calls, Conduct off property sales calls, attend tradeshows and local networking events to represent the hotel.

· Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, presentations, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilization of Hyatt technology systems and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate.

· Participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings and also works as a team member with the sales and events staff

The Manager will also be responsible for managing specific marketing tactics that support the expectations of business development for the hotel. This business represents a significant revenue stream into the hotel’s portfolio and the Manager’s role will be to focus on growing our overall share in Morristown/NJ Market . This manager will have ongoing customer communication and a heavy focus on developing these opportunities with small and medium enterprise organizations

This is a US NJ based onsite at the Hotel

Qualifications:

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred

  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, hotelligence, rfp express, lanyon, and salesforce.com

  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training

  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training

  • Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
